The Hurlet Crematorium Donates £17,000 to St Vincent’s Hospice Through ICCM Recycling of Metals Scheme
The Hurlet Crematorium is delighted to donate £17,000 to St Vincent’s Hospice through its participation in the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) Recycling of Metals Scheme, supporting the hospice’s vital work caring for patients and families across the local community.
The ICCM Recycling of Metals Scheme allows metals recovered following cremation, with families’ permission, to be recycled responsibly. The funds raised through the scheme are then donated to charities and organisations that provide important support within local communities.
Representatives from St Vincent’s Hospice were recently welcomed to The Hurlet Crematorium for a cheque presentation, giving the crematorium team the opportunity to recognise the valuable work carried out by the hospice and the difference it makes to patients and their loved ones.
Crematorium Manager Angela Johnstone said:
“Through our participation in the ICCM Recycling of Metals Scheme, we are able to support organisations that provide essential care and compassion within our community. We are honoured that this year’s donation of £17,000 will support the incredible work carried out by St Vincent’s Hospice. Their team provides exceptional care, compassion and dignity to individuals and families during very challenging times. As an organisation that also works closely with families during moments of loss, we recognise the importance of the support services that the hospice provides.”
St Vincent’s Hospice expressed their gratitude for the donation, highlighting the importance of partnerships with local organisations that help sustain their specialist care services.
A spokesperson from the hospice’s fundraising team said:
“We are so grateful to the team at The Hurlet Crematorium for this incredibly generous donation. It’s so important for the hospice to build meaningful and long-term relationships with our supporters, and donations like these are vital in allowing us to continue our specialist care for families that rely on us most.”
The Hurlet Crematorium is proud to support the vital work of St Vincent’s Hospice and looks forward to continuing its involvement in the ICCM Recycling of Metals Scheme, helping to make a positive difference to families in the community.
